Each road is accurately placed to match its real world location. Railroads: Provides greatly enhanced railroad, including rail yards. Spectacular Night Lighting: Adds a new night lighting environment unlike anything else on the market. This feature will add actual points of light, to simulate street lights and automobiles.
Previously, this functionality has only been seen in many professional flight simulators. Accurate Water Data: The water features in Ultimate Terrain Europe are really something special. First, we use the commercial TeleAtlas water data set as a base, which is currently the most detailed, large-scale water data available for the European Region.
Only the TeleAtlas data will draw all rivers and streams in their true polygon shapes, and not as textured lines. Scenery Solutions has then enhanced this data even further, by adding over 10,000 custom draw features from high-resolution satellite images. The end result is a FS2004 terrain that is more detailed then even the best maps of Europe.
Enhanced Coastline System: With UT Europe, we have revamped the way coastlines are drawn. Coastlines are sized appropriately, depending on the location. Wave effects are added where appropriate, but not overused in the detailed bays and harbors. To enhance the coastlines even further, UT Europe now provides sandy beaches where appropriate. Landclass Enhancments: UT Europe will completely change the FS2004 urban landscape. You now get cities, towns and even small villages appearing in a much more accurate location, With UT Europe, you get a better use of existing FS2004 urban textures and it is fully compatible with popular products that replace the base FS2004 terrain textures.
Details, Details, Details: Also included in the product are detailed land polygons for things like parks, golf courses, commercial areas, industrial areas and of course the beaches. The polygons will align with the road boundaries, just like you would see them on high quality mapping services and GPS units.
Highly Configurable Interface: As with all UT Products, UT Europe is highly configurable, with over 30 features that you can turn on and off to suit your personal needs. Compatibility With Add On Scenery Products: We realize that many users have a collection of fine regional scenery products for Europe. We are currently working with many developers of scenery products for Europe, to achieve compatibility with Ultimate Terrain now and in the future.

Installing Ultimate Terrain for FS9/FS2004 on Vista/Windows 7/Windows 10 The Ultimate Terrain series of products for FS9/FS2004 were developed when Windows XP was the current OS. Since then there have been the releases of Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 10.
While these operating systems have many facilities to allow installers and code written in older OSes to still run, we have had some reports where installing the FS9/FS2004 series of Ultimate Terrain products did not work as expected. As Windows 7/10 utilises UAC (user access control) just like Vista, and if you are installing FS9 to the default Program Files location, then you must run the UT installation by right-clicking on it and selecting run as administrator. If you do not, it may have issues writing files under Program Files. Make sure that you are restarting your PC between installations of the various products or whenever you run FS9 and then install an add-on. FS9 is notorious for holding open files even after you think you have quit it.
This prevents other add-ons from correctly making changes. All Ultimate Terrain products must be installed under the main FS9 folder (where the FS9.exe resides). This is the location supplied as default by the Ultimate Terrain installers. The most common issue seen when installing the FS9/FS2004 series of Ultimate Terrain products is that while all the scenery folders and files get written under the main FS9 folder structure, the required entries are not written into the FS9 Scenery Library.
Ultimate Terrain Canada/Alaska After you have installed UT Canada/Alaska, make sure that the appropriate entries for the Ultimate Terrain products appear in the FS9 Scenery Library. If they do not then during the installation, UT Canada/Alaska was unable to add the required entries into the FS9 scenery.cfg file (either because of security or it could not find it). You need to check that the actual UT scenery folders and files are. You should find them under FS9-Scenery (where FS9 means the main folder when the FS9.exe is located). If the actual UT scenery folders and files are there, then you can look to simply add them manually to your FS9 Scenery Library. Here are the steps: 1) Start FS9 and open the Scenery Library (Settings-Scenery Library from the main FS9 screen). 2) Use the Add button to add the following.
In each case I provide the directory you need to point to and the scenery area title (note again that I use FS9 to refer to the top level FS9 folder where the FS9.exe is). FS9-Scenery- UTCanada Ultimate Terrain - Canada/Alaska FS9-Scenery-UTUSA Ultimate Terrain - USA 3) Use the move up/down buttons to order the entries you just entered so that they read from top to bottom Ultimate Terrain - Canada/Alaska Ultimate Terrain - USA 4) Shutdown FS9 and restart your PC (to prevent FS9 from locking any files). Run the UT Setup and Configuration Tool for each of the UT products you have and enable the features you want. Make sure that you start the various UT Setup and Configuration Tools by right-clicking on them and selecting 'Run as administrator'. 5) Once you have done the UT configuration, restart FS9 and see if things looks better. Ultimate Terrain USA After you have installed UT USA, make sure that the appropriate entries for the Ultimate Terrain products appear in the FS9 Scenery Library.
If they do not then during the installation, UT USA was unable to add the required entries into the FS9 scenery.cfg file (either because of security or it could not find it).
